Getting your lace wigs to look as natural as possible is now as easy as can be, and the most effective way to do so is by making baby hairs in the front section of it.
Creating baby hair not only helps with giving the illusion that your hairline is real, but also helps with getting you to look your very best every time. Thankfully, in order to pull off this very realistic look you won’t need to go to the salon if you don’t want to, you can do it all on your own.
Therefore, the need of a stylist isn’t necessary if you prep the things you will need, and then carefully follow the few steps listed down below.
Things you will need:
- Scissors
- Lace Wig
- Rat-tail Comb
- Mannequin head
- Butterfly clips and T-pins
- Spray Bottle with water
Steps on how to make your own baby hair:
-
Firstly, secure your lace wig on to the mannequin head using a few T-pins - Before cutting the baby hair, you will have to ensure that the wig is properly placed on the mannequin, and that it won’t move once you begin working. This will help you to avoid any mishaps.
-
Use the rat-tail comb to separate a small section in the front - Since the baby hair is only a tiny portion in the front, you will only need a small selection of hair to make it; therefore, after separating a small section of hair, use the butterfly clip to pin the rest of the hair back before you proceed.
-
Use the spray bottle with water to damp the hair you selected, then proceed to cut with a pair of scissors/razor – Wetting the hair makes it a little bit easier when cutting; therefore, after lightly dousing the small section with water, pull the hair forward and cut to your desired length. Keep in mind: baby hairs aren’t typically too long so feel free to trim as needed. Also, refrain from cutting the hairs too short or else the hair will look a little uneven when you’re done.
- Style as desired – You’ve just made your own baby hair so now you are free to style your wig to your pleasing.
Once you have thoroughly followed the few steps above, then now you will be able to rock your wig with baby hairs, and confidently slay your style!
